Mentow has called Rev. Tim Mathia as pastor. He is currently pastoring Barboursville Church, and will complete studies for a Master of Divinity degree in May. Tim and his wife, Rebecca, have two children, Callie and Addison.

Norwood has called Dr. William T. Vest as full time pastor. Dr. Vest and his wife Marion, who have been in the gospel ministry for 53 years, have served several churches in Strawberry Association.

Palestine will host its 6th annual Wild Game Dinner at Huddleston Elementary School on Saturday, March 1, 2003, 6:30 p.m. Wally Hardner, member of the Christian Bow Hunters of America, will be the guest speaker.

We welcome Rev. Harry Leland to Strawberry as the new pastor of Shady Grove.

In honor of Wessley Patterson, on his retirement as pastor of Trinity, the church hosted a covered dish luncheon following the worship service on Sunday, January 26. On Saturday, February 1, they hosted a Praise and Worship Celebration at Preston Oaks Baptist Church, Roanoke, to honor Wessley’s 39+ years of ministry.
