Mount Hermon has called Rev. Richard E. Kallstrom as pastor, effective January 15, 2004. Before accepting the call to Mount Hermon, he served as pastor of Mountain View Union Church.
Thaxton has called Dr. Eldridge Cullum as pastor, effective February 15, 2004. Dr. Cullum was born in Danville, Virginia; graduated from Carson Newman College; and earned his Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry degrees at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He and his wife, Jennie, have three children: Stefanie, 20; Jared, 18; and Justin, 16. They come to Virginia from a pastorate in Fort Worth, Texas.
Thaxton collected 80 shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child.
Thaxton has begun an ongoing ministry project for soldiers in Iraq. They recently collected three large boxes of items.
Thaxton is collecting funds for Johnny Gupton and a group going on a mission trip to Russia.
