Focus on Our Family (con't)
North Bedford highlights of activities from the last three months: Calvin Sacra completed his first year at NBBC in December. Our 2007 World Hunger offering was $10,000; Lottie Moon Christmas Offering was $20,078.08. Our Youth, under the leadership of Jason & P.J. Belk, attended Winterfest at LU.
Praise! Thaxton Baptist has begun excavation for their new worship center. It is hoped the building will be completed by the end of the year.
River Rock Church Update: Many thanks to all who have blessed us in many ways this past year. A special thanks to Mentow for letting us use their church for a special baptism service a few months ago.
We have been very grateful for God's rich provision over the past 5 years. We have never been without a place to meet. In five years we have been in 4 different facilities. Our current location, for the past 2 years has been in a karate studio. Over the past few months we believe God has placed a desire within our hearts for a more permanent location. One that would be conducive to fellowship luncheons after church and provide needed space for Bible studies. Since the beginning of the church we have held all Bible studies and most fellowship times in the homes of our people. The church family has now outgrown all the homes of the individual families. Beginning next month we will be using the facility of a nearby church that has graciously agreed to host the Bible study for men we have each month called: Knights of Honor...spiritual leadership training for men and young men. This year we are offering this training opportunity to men and young men of the community. We will be studying every Biblical passage addressed to husbands...for the purposes of transforming existing marriages and preparing the young men for future God-glorifying marriages.
Would you please consider praying with us for either a permanent building to meet in or a piece of land where we could build a church? One desire we have as a church family is to literally build the church together. We would like to use this as an opportunity to train the young men in the skills of building. I believe we have the manpower and building experience to do this. We just need the property and the money. Reminds me of Paul when he says: “having nothing, yet possessing everything.” Thank-you for praying with us concerning this desire we believe God has placed in our hearts.
This Spring we have the opportunity to birth a new church to God's glory. We will be sending out Brett Weeks and family to start Moneta Community Church. God has already provided a place to meet.
Thanks again for blessing my family and church family—only eternity will reveal the magnitude and the beauty of the seeds you have planted into the soil of this work of God.
Gratefully, Marc Jantomaso, Pastor, River Rock Church
