Children Helping Children
Even though several months have passed since the devastating India tsunami, time can never change the fact that hundreds of children are now orphans as a result of this catastrophe! The Mission Friends organization of Strawberry WMU is sponsoring an effort to raise funds to help provide homes for these children.

The Precious Children's Home in India originally housed children of prisoners. Many parents serving life terms in prison cannot provide for their families, leaving the children abandoned. The Children's Home has already taken in ten children orphaned by the tsunami. Funds are now being raised to place 100 additional children in existing Children's Homes for one year and to build at least one new orphanage in the state of Tamil Nadu, an area heavily affected by the tsunami. It costs $400 to house a child for one year.

Here's how all our children can help. Take a box, jar, or any suitable container, and decorate it with pictures and information about the India Tsunami and the children who have been affected. During the months of April, May, and June, put pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters—even dollars—in this special container. (Get the whole family involved in this mission project.) At the end of June, give all the money to your church and request that a check be written to Strawberry WMU and mailed to Mrs. Emily Morris, Treasurer, 2161 Penns Mill Rd., Big Island 24526.

If, at the WMU Annual Meeting at Shady Grove, you picked up some empty baby bottles to fill with money for the Bedford Pregnancy Center, please be sure to let the Association office know what your group/church collected.
