Shady Grove's WMU is nearing its goal of 100 Hug a Bears for the local EMS and police services to give to children in times of crisis. They have also started a Cookie Bake, where they distribute cookies to area services to let them know how much they're appreciated. They exceeded their Annie Armstrong offering goal by $200.
Staunton's Praise and Worship Band (and others) will host an End-of-the School-Year party, Saturday, June 18, 6:30 p.m.
On April 17, 2005, Jeffrey Goad was ordained a deacon of Walnut Grove Baptist Church. A certificate of ordination was presented to Jeffrey by Mike Dooley, Chairman of Deacons. Mike spoke of the work Jeffrey has done and is still doing for the church. Presently, he is an AWANA leader. Those taking part in the service were pastor, Rev. Harold Lewis; deacons, Mike Dooley, Jimmy Harris, Emmett Lawrence; trustees of Walnut Grove Methodist, and congregations of both Walnut Grove Baptist and Methodist.
Walnut Grove Union Church welcomes Ernest Dooley as Youth Leader. He is doing a great job with the youth, and attendance keeps growing. He and his wife Sandra, who helps him, have our sincere thanks and prayers.
