John McKinney, pastor of Shady Grove, has announced that he will be leaving the church to return to active duty as a Chaplain with the Navy. His last Sunday is June 2.
Jeff Johnson, pastor of Thaxton, has accepted the pastorate of a church in Glen Allen, Virginia. June 9 will be his last Sunday in Thaxton’s pulpit.
Pray for the following churches as they seek pastors: Hunting Creek, Mentow, Shady Grove, Staunton, Thaxton.
- Pray for hearts to be at peace and to focus on Jesus Christ.
- Pray for genuine love and a spirit of humility and servanthood among the members.
- Pray for encouragement.
- Pray for wisdom as they begin to search for the one God is raising up to be their pastor.
- Pray for the pulpit search committees.
- Pray for the many local leaders and committee members.
- Pray that in all things said and done, Jesus Christ will be honored.
