Children Helping Children
The Mission Friends organization of Strawberry WMU is sponsoring an effort to raise funds to help provide homes for children orphaned by the India tsunami last December. Plans are to place 100 children in existing Children's Homes for one year and to build at least one new orphanage in the state of Tamil Nadu, an area heavily affected by the tsunami. It costs $400 to house a child for one year.
Here's how all our children can help. Take a box, jar, or any suitable container, and decorate it with pictures and information about the India Tsunami and the children who have been affected. During the months of April, May, and June, put pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters—even dollars—in this special container. (Get the whole family involved in this mission project.) At the end of June, give all the money to your church and request that a check be written to Strawberry WMU and mailed to Mrs. Emily Morris, Treasurer, 2161 Penns Mill Rd., Big Island 24526.
Let's see how many children we can help!
