Mentow's pastor, Tim Mathia, will be on mission in Nicaragua next month with Dr. Don Gillette, Because We Care Ministries.
Mount Zion's VBS enrollment was 97, with average attendance of 78. There were 7 decisions for salvation, 6 rededications, and 6 showing interest in missions.

A Five Fabulous Sundays Sunday School enrollment and attendance campaign will be conducted in September. Christmas in August will be celebrated with Four Sunday Nights of Dessert Delights including special emphasis on August 24.

Norwood had an all day Vacation Bible School on Saturday, August 2.

Through the love and generosity of members and friends, Norwood has purchased new hymnals. If any area church has a need for 100 Baptist Hymnals (in extremely good condition), 1975 edition, contact Steve Everett, 6130 Old Cifax Road, Forest 24551. No set charge, but a love offering to the church building fund would be greatly appreciated.

Radford recently purchased a new 25-passenger bus for use in Youth and Senior Adult Ministries. It was well used the first week of July as a Youth Missions Team went to work in Atlanta's inner city.

Geoff Hammond from the SBCV will be the guest speaker during Homecoming Services to be held on August 10 at 10:30 a.m. Dinner will be served in the fellowship hall following the service.

Mark your calendars NOW! TEAM IMPACT will be at Radford August 29-31. Come see some of the world's strongest men do feats of strength and share the Gospel with power. Be in prayer for this once-in-a-lifetime event in our area as these men come to share the true source of strength with our community and particularly our youth. Call the church at 297-5214 for more info or to register.

In June, three members of Staunton journeyed to Miami, Florida, to assist and encourage Shalom Baptist Church, a newly planted Haitian-Creole speaking congregation. Staunton trained the leadership of Shalom in a simple evangelism tool and engaged them in door-to-door evangelism. Much time was spent painting the exterior of the pastor's house which also serves as the congregation's meeting place. Andrew Smith said it was an "eye-opening experience." Josh Brammer learned that helping others helps the helper also. Matt Recicar led the group under the blessing and financial support of the membership of Staunton Baptist.
Forest (formerly in SBA) needs a church secretary for approximately 15 hours per week. To apply or for further details, call the church office at 434-525-4841.
