"Festival of Praise"
An Associational Service of Worship
Sunday, October 12, 2003, 3 p.m.
Bedford Baptist Church
Each church is invited to bring 2 musical groups (solo, duet, trio, quartet, choral and/or instrumental) to share in a service of worship celebrating the gifts of music God has given us. Everyone is invited to attend. Directors, please send the names of the persons/groups, and the names of the musical selections and composers to Judy Edwards, 1516 Oakwood Street, Bedford, Va. 24523, no later than noon on October 6, 2003.
The first annual Children's Music Day Camp in our association was held June 23-27, 2003, at Bedford Baptist Church. A total of 47 youngsters and leaders, representing 8 churches, participated in a week-long day camp built around the theme: "Let All Creation Sing!" Classes were offered in puppets, sign language, keyboard, orff, recorders, and handbells. Each child chose and participated in 3 of the classes. All children participated in choir and the "Road Signs" (theory) class.
On the final day the group led in a worship service during which each of the classes presented an example of what they had learned during the week.
