North Bedford will have Homecoming on Sunday, September 9. Speaker for the 10:55 a.m. worship service is Rev. Steve Bradshaw, church enrichment missionary for the Central-West Team of the SBCV. Following the service, a covered dish lunch will be served in the fellowship hall.
Shady Grove is proud is announce that Terry and Debbie Nester will head our Fall Revival, September 23-25. Everyone is welcome to come join us.
Shady Grove had a wonderful VBS this year, with 79 children attending.
Last month, six young people from Staunton served on a mission team which painted/repaired homes belonging to elderly and handicapped people in Lexington, NC.
Suck Spring is excited to welcome their new pastor, Michael Cox, and his wife, Connie, who started their ministry July 1. Michael and Connie are originally from the Christiansburg area and moved from ministry in Chespeake. They have been extremely busy since the start of their ministry, as they have participated in VBS, baptisms, and a baby dedication service.
More than a dozen new members have recently been welcomed at Suck Spring. Two of the new members were baptized by Rev. Fred Milacci, interim pastor, in June; Pastor Michael Cox baptized two at a special service of Baptism and Baby Dedication on July 29 and two others at a service on August 26.
A very successful VBS was held July 22-27, with 166 enrolled. Flip-flops, school supplies, clothing and $800 were collected for Because We Care Ministries, Inc., a ministry of Donald and Pamela Gillette to Nicaragua. The Gillettes were present in the Mission Arena on Wednesday night to tell about their ministry.
