This September there are two important events to keep in mind regarding evangelism and outreach.

One is our annual CenterFest involvement. On September 27, we will need volunteers to man (and woman) our two booths on Main Street where we offer water and lemonade in the name of Jesus to road-weary travelers and a baby care station where moms and dads may tend to the needs of their little pilgrims.

Please be part of this outreach effort in 2008. E-mail Julie Arthur at jarthurmves@yahoo.com or the Association office at sba@sbava.org to let us know how many are with your team and what they are prepared to do (work the booths, prayer walk, distribute literature in the streets, or share some ministry to the visitors). Trinity will host our CenterFest Rally on Thursday, September 18, 7 p.m. This brief orientation session will prepare everyone for what we will be doing in the booths, on the stage, and among the crowd as we prayerwalk and pass out literature.

Another excellent outreach opportunity will be the opening of the new movie "Fireproof" on September 26. It is by the same folks who produced "Facing the Giants" and "Flywheel." "Fireproof" is a movie about marriage, the family, and secure relationships. In conjunction with the theater release, a host of promotional and study material has been prepared and is available to groups interested in strengthening marriages.

There are resources to help you invite folks to the movie, prepare marriage related sermons and studies, and many wonderful and creative ideas your church may use to reach hearts and souls looking to rescue a tattered relationship or improve an existing one. The Association was fortunate to be able to offer a free screening to our pastors and churches in August. We appreciate Beaverdam for allowing us to use their space and equipment to help make this outreach tool even more effective as we help families "fireproof their marriages."
