Focus on Our Family (con't)
Quaker had its first neighborhood block party this fall. It was conceived as a way to reach our neighborhood for Christ. We had games for the children and a free lunch for everyone. We also handed out bags with gifts, information about the church's ministries and about becoming a Christian. We were delighted to have the Liberty Block Party trailer and students with us—they did a wonderful job at manning the games and helping with food so our people could mingle. The SBCV's disaster relief trailer was there, and we enjoyed some live bluegrass music. We reached several unchurched families and have regained some of our own inactive members—we can't wait for next year!

Those attending were asked to bring their contribution to benefit World Hunger and also a can of food to help those locally in need.
A Wild West Fall Fest will be held October 31. The parking lot and fellowship hall of the church will be set up with decorations and activities and the community is invited to attend. Members of the church will be giving treats from the trunks of their cars. This outreach will offer a fun and ‘fear-free’ alternative to Trick or Treat.
