The church filled 46 shoe boxes for "Operation Christmas Child."
The "Country Cousins" puppet ministry visited five nursing homes in the Lynchburg and Bedford area in the last three months.
On December 9, 7:30 p.m., the adult choir will present the Christmas cantata, "Mary, Did You Know?"
The senior citizens will have their annual Christmas luncheon and party at 12 noon on December 12.
The children will present a Christmas program at the 11 a.m. worship service on December 16.
The youth will present a Christmas play at 7 p.m. on December 19.
On December 23, 5:30 p.m., the church will go Christmas caroling in the Big Island community.

During its annual "Operation Thanksgiving" the church collected $670 for the Shepherd's Table in Bedford.
Mount Zion will be presenting a video entitled "The Cross or the Crescent, Understanding Islam" on Sunday night, December, 9, during the 6:30 worship service. This video, produced by the North American Mission Board, contains testimony from practicing Muslims about their own faith. It will give you a much clearer understanding of how this youngest world religion began and what the Islamic faith teaches. The video is 75 minutes in length. A big screen well be used. There is no admission charge.
Mountain View has called Rev. Philip Day, a former pastor, as interim pastor, effective November 11, 2001. Rev. Day and his wife Jean make their home in Roanoke.
Pecks' state mission offering for the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia reached a total of $700. This will help towards the portable church they would like for new church starts, a shower trailer to use for disaster relief, and youth camps.
