Gloria in excelcis Deo! (con't)
Not one day goes by without us hearing more about “homeland defense,” “war on terrorism,” “national security,” and “economic downturn.” It is enough to cause great worry and concern, and there have been more than just a few who have had to seek some form of professional help in order to cope with the mounting pressures.
If all we had was this life, then there would be no argument concerning feelings of hopelessness, depression, and a sense of things being out of control. Thank God that as believers we have another viewpoint. Our God is in control. He is not the source of the evil and desperation all around, but instead is the Hope in the midst of the hopelessness.
What a beautiful message to share; that God loves us so much, and desires for us His very best, that He sent His Son Jesus to be the Door where we might enter into a kingdom not of this world and its values but of another—a holy place of joy, peace, and comfort.
God made His entrance into our world in the form of an innocent tender baby, and in the name of Jesus any man, woman, or child can be born into God’s family by placing his full life and trust into the hands of a complete Savior.
The angels accompanied Christ’s birth 2000 years ago announcing to those present good news of great joy. Praise God that today we still hear and experience the same good news of great joy! Whatever may happen in this temporary span of life on earth, we can rest calm and assured that for the follower of Jesus Christ the final chapter is one of victory and rejoicing.
Do you doubt that the Designer and Creator of this magnificent universe can provide for the needs of His beloved children? The Lord who has painted the night sky with His matchless brush and reaches into the depths of sinful hearts to wonderfully transform broken lives is still very much in control and on His throne. The little Baby of Bethlehem has become the Redeemer of those who call out to Him. Take some moments this season to seriously consider the praise echoed on that first night by saying “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”
Have a blessed Christmas!
