"Girls In Christ Retreat" (con't)
In the evening the girls formed small groups and rotated through different sessions. In session I, the girls received makeovers and make-up advice from a Mary Kay Consultant. Debbie Neff also spent many hours giving hair cuts and new hair styles. Instructors from the International Karate Academy gave classes in self-defense in Session II. In Session III, two officers from the Bedford County Sheriff's Office talked to the girls about safety and gave a demonstration with the drug detection dog. Health information was provided in Session IV by Misty Bowden from the Woman's Health Center and John Crawford Counselor. In addition to being a lot of fun, these sessions provided much useful and important information. After supper and relaxation time the group moved on to serious topics. Katrina Beisser began with the introduction of the study book "Every Young Woman's Battle." Katrina, Angelena Smith, and Michelle Pitman served as discussion leaders for the groups. During this time Steve Manuel met with all youth leaders to discuss youth ministry.
The retreat ended with a time of reflection and testimonies. This was a life changing weekend for many as God's presence touched lives and changed hearts. We are excited to see these girls as they continue to grow in Christ.
"…Set an example for other followers by what you say and do, as well as by your love, faith, and purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
