Mount Zion's choir will present the cantata, "A Night to Remember," on Sunday morning, December 18, at 11, and a Christmas program that evening at 6:30. The church will go caroling Wednesday. night, December 21.

Forty-six boxes were prepared for Operation Christmas Child.

North Bedford will host a reception Sunday, December 4, 2005, from 2 to 5 p.m., in the church fellowship hall to celebrate Charles and Irene Stinson's 35 years of ministry at North Bedford as well as to honor Charles on his retirement on December 31, 2005. Everyone is invited to attend. Please come and share this very special occasion with Charles and Irene.

Congratulations to North Bedford! The association office recently received from the International Mission Board certificates recognizing the church as the "Top Per Capita Giving Church" and the "Top Giving Church" to the 2004 Lottie Moon Christmas Offering in Strawberry Baptist Association. (The certificates presented to Beaverdam at the SBA Annual Meeting were sent to us in error.)

Norwood called Rev. Todd Childers as interim pastor, effective October 19, 2005.

Palestine will present "The Christmas Shoes" at 7 p.m. on both Saturday, December 10, and Sunday, December 11.

The church collected over 50 shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child.

Rev. Jim Moon of Lynchburg has been serving as interim pastor at Pecks since Bob Sherrill's retirement in August. Rev. Moon served as a co-pastor for a number of years at Thomas Road Baptist Church and was among the founding faculty of Liberty University. He and his wife Delores have two grown children.

Quaker's choir will present the musical, "Star of Wonder," by Dennis & Nan Allen, on Sunday, December 11, at 7 p.m. "Dateline: Bethlehem," by Marian Dean Ekin, will be presented by the youth on December 18. Audience participation is needed. A time of fellowship with refreshments will follow.

Suck Spring has recently employed Jared Cullum as youth minister.

Thaxton collected $1,336 for World Hunger. The church will host the Liberty Chamber Singers on December 4, 6 p.m. On December 21-23, the church will have a "Live Nativity" at the Thaxton Community Center.

Trinity is looking for a part-time Minister of Music and a full-time Associate Pastor of Youth and Children.
