Suck Spring Mission Trip (con't)
God kept us safe, mostly healthy, enduring the heat (100-110 degrees), and gave us strength for the mission. With God's provision we distributed 3700 pounds of beans and rice, provided 4 medical clinics, painted a church, gave clothes and toys to children, and shared the gospel of Jesus Christ. Many of the team members are already praying about returning to Nicaragua next year and having some new team members with us.
Our church family was such a blessing by financially supporting, praying, and donating clothes and toys for us to take to the villages. On November 16, we treated the church to a Nicaraguan-style "thank you" dinner and presented PowerPoint slides and testimonies so they could see the work that was done. How great is our God! Psalm 66:16 says, "Come and hear, all you who fear God, and I will declare what He has done for my soul."
One of the unique blessings of this trip was that we joined forces with a church in Covington. Some of their members have been to Nicaragua many times, so they were able to orient us to the work that needed to be done. We encourage other churches in SBA to join together in a mission project, or contact Because We Care Ministries about helping in their mission work. They send a team once every month, so there are plenty of opportunities. Check out their website at www.bwcm.org. If you have some members that would like to join us on our next trip to Nicaragua, we invite you to partner with us and see the great things that God will do! A couple of churches with a few members working together on the same mission can make a difference for Jesus Christ!
