Have you enjoyed this winter's snows? We sure have! After so many years living in arid desert climates it is such a change to have wet snowy winters. The beautiful white stuff reminds us that God has designed His creation for our enjoyment, and part of that has to do with changing seasons, temperatures, and colors.

Mount Olivet will host the February birthday party for residents of Bedford County Nursing Home; Diamond Hill will host it in March. The WMU of Thaxton collected and delivered 18 personal care packages and two bags of books, yarn, and other items to Fluvanna Correctional Center for Women.
To all women/girls who are/were GA's: This is the year that GA's is 90 and we want to recognize everyone who was or is a GA. If you were/are a GA please give your name to the Association office. If you have any pictures of GA's or newspaper articles we could use for display, please get them to the Association office and let us know if you want them back. Our annual meeting will recognize all of these people as special guests. The only church we have heard from is Pecks-come on ladies, get those names in!

On February 7 and 8, 2004, Nashville recording artist Timothy Mark will be in concert in Strawberry Baptist Association. The first concert is a benefit sponsored by Because We Care Ministries to raise money for mission work in Nicaragua. It will be at 7:00pm on Saturday, February 7, at Timber Ridge Baptist Church. On Sunday, February 8, Timothy will be at both morning services of Mentow Baptist Church, at 8:45 and 11:00am. That night he will be at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church at 7:00pm. Dave Mason, of Lawyers Missionary Baptist Church in Lynchburg, is available to speak to your church/mission group about Juvenile Detention Ministry. Call him at 434-534-6194. Both Radford and Walnut Grove are involved in this life-changing ministry.

Fifteen members of Mentow will be on mission in Nicaragua February 14-21, 2004. The team will serve with "Because We Care Ministries," a mission effort begun by Don and Pam Gillette.
Thank you to every church that participated in the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions in 2003. The total contributed by Strawberry Association churches was $9,573.91. Our association received $571.54 from the offering.

We offer sympathy to the family of Rev. R. Lewis Garst at his passing on January 17, 2004. Lewis was pastor of Quaker Church from 1988 to 1999.
