Our wonderful 2002 Brazil experience is behind us, and God used many of our folks in SBA to help bring it all together. What a blessing for all those involved!
Now our sights are set on our next cooperative mission effort. On July 26 another SBA team goes to the Czech Republic for about nine days of intense evangelistic ministry. The team’s primary responsibility will be to teach English to students of all ages and help build bridges and open doors in order to share Christ. They will return to the United States on August 4.

Thank you, thank you Strawberry Association for your Kingdom investment in the new church which now has a name—River Rock Church. And Jesus said: "Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it." We are currently in the process of praying for and gathering a group of mission-minded people/families who will help us over the summer with the three preview services that are planned. The purpose of the preview services is to provide the community with an opportunity to "preview" what the new church will be like and also be used as a means to form a group that will become the core of the church when it launches on September 15.

To meet budget needs, $6,000 was transferred from reserve funds that had accumulated since 2000.
As our involvement in missions and ministries increases, so does our need for financial support.

Together we are making a difference in the lives of folks in our area who need to learn English as a second language.
Together we are helping to heal the broken-hearted as we support the work of Bedford Domestic Violence Services and the Bedford Jail Ministry.
Together we are changing our world through the new church start in Forest, through partnership missions in Brazil and the Czech Republic, and through Internet Evangelism.
This year’s Associational Missions Offering will be used to support the ongoing ministries of Strawberry Baptist Association.

Our Association Baptist Men's meeting at Bedford Baptist was good. Attending were John Woodford, Holmes Updike, D.J. Ashwell, Bill Huffman, Larry Craig, Allen Stevens and myself. John Gordon, Director of Missions for Piedmont Baptist Association, gave an interesting presentation about Virginia Baptist Disaster Relief, focusing on the feeding unit operation and showing video clips of the efforts in New York after 9/11. Following discussion, a decision was reached to plan a training event for Strawberry Association for those who would like to work with the feeding units or would simply like to know more about how that operation works. (If you attended the training in Lynchburg recently, please let Larry Ross know.)
