In last month's article we explored the possibilities of what can happen with a dollar given to the ministry rather than wasted on incidental expenses. This month we suggest a way we can bring many dollars to bear on the ministry needs of the Strawberry Baptist Association.

In light of the urgent financial and ministry needs of the Association and the broad spirit of apathy, we will gather on Sunday, May 23, 3 p.m., at Trinity Baptist Church for a special town meeting. At this meeting we will speak to the depth and causes of the crises we are facing, share ideas about how to best address the concerns, and pray together seeking God's direction and wisdom as to the future of the Association. We are asking that all interested SBA members be present, especially pastors, elected officers, and committee personnel. (We would like to have as many folks as usually attend the Annual Meeting.) The purpose of the meeting is to gain a clear understanding as to the level of interest of our member churches and pastors to the ministries of the Association and to determine if our personal involvement and financial commitment are up to the task. This is not a business meeting, but rather a time for those concerned about Association ministries to join together to discuss our concerns and help communicate the needs and solutions with others around the Association. This May gathering will help prepare us for the annual fall meeting when ministry proposals and budgets for the coming year will be presented.
