We've heard Acts 1:8 countless times before. In fact, most of us have memorized these familiar words that become especially popular during a missions emphasis. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
On September 27, Bedford will once again celebrate CenterFest. Last year, for the first time, Strawberry Baptist Association participated in the event by setting up our own booth. We served nearly 3,000 people as we offered free water and lemonade, a baby changing table, puppet shows, and more. This year we want to do even better. With your help we can!
Bibleman has unfinished business in the Southwest Virginia area and will be coming to the Roanoke Civic Center on Saturday, September 6, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We will utilize our counselors, ushers, security, and a host of other volunteers. The Festival Children's Committee, who is anxious and ready to go, will be leading in the planning of this exciting event. Please be praying and planning to bring as many children as possible to the Roanoke Civic Center, Saturday, September 6. We encourage you to implement Operation Andy through your church. Ask children to pray and invite their friends that do not know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Our work is not finished. Let's rock our area for Jesus! n

Youth who are not attending YEC are invited to participate in YouthFest 2003 at Huddleston Ruritan Field on Saturday, August 2, 2003 . Mentow Church is hosting this event at the Huddleston Ruritan Field on Saturday, August 2. The objective of YouthFest is to "reach out" to our youth community by providing an opportunity for all youth to come together for an afternoon of games, food, entertainment, music, and testimony. We ask that you pray that we might find ways to reach unsaved youth, and we ask that you pray about your own possible involvement. By giving a few hours of your time on August 2, you could positively influence a young person's life forever. We're still in the planning stages but will soon be moving into the "recruiting people to help" stage. We will be providing additional details and a meeting date to youth workers in SBA churches in the next few weeks.
Mrs. Rebekah Overstreet, WMU Director 1813 Oakwood St., Bedford 24523 email: roverstreet@iopenen.net Phone: 540-586-2956 Women on Mission: Timber Ridge will provide devotionals at Oakwood Manor in July; Rainbow Forest will provide them in August. Radford will host the July birthday party for residents of Bedford County Nursing Home; Morgans will host it in August. Mentow's GA's recently completed a project to raise money for the Miller Home in Lynchburg. Together with some of the girls from the Home, the GA's drew pictures for note cards. The pictures were then taken to Seckman Printing where the note cards were produced. The GA's spent several months selling packages of cards. On June 1, the girls of the Miller Home were invited to Mentow to join the GA's for a celebratory party, during which a representative of the Home was presented with a check for $1,225-an amazing accomplishment for a group of outstanding girls!
Contact Rebekah Overstreet if you would be willing to serve as an Ambassador for CrossRoads Camp and Conference Center.
