We are less than four weeks away from Bedford's CenterFest 2003! Have all the arrangements been made for your church to join us for this extraordinary day of fun, fellowship, and ministry? Just imagine, on the last Saturday of September over 15,000 people will descend upon Centertown from all over the region! Our residents get to shine and show off their very best to the interested visitors.
Interested in participating on a Mission Trip to France September 20-29? During the day the team will prayer walk and distribute gospel material in mailboxes. At night the team will participate in evangelistic services at Le Chesnay Baptist Church in the suburb of Versailles (southwest of Paris). Approximate cost per person of $1,600 includes airfare, hotel, meals, travel in country, and insurance. If interested, contact Kathy L. Smith, 540-297-9283, as soon as possible. Additional participation is dependent on airline seats available and a valid passport. Those signed on are: Daisy Ferguson, Allison Carver, Eve Goode, Kathy Smith (Palestine), and Kathy Wheeler (Mineral Springs). If you could help support the team financially, send your contribution to the Strawberry Association Office and mark it "France Mission Trip." Your financial and prayer support is greatly appreciated.
Bibleman has unfinished business in the Southwest Virginia area and will be coming to the Roanoke Civic Center on Saturday, September 6, 2003, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. We will utilize our counselors, ushers, security, and a host of other volunteers. The Festival Children's Committee, who is anxious and ready to go, will be leading in the planning of this exciting event. Please be praying and planning to bring as many children as possible to the Roanoke Civic Center, Saturday, September 6. We encourage you to implement Operation Andy through your church. Ask children to pray and invite their friends that do not know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. Our work is not finished. Let's rock our area for Jesus! n

In early August, Mentow Baptist Church sponsored the first annual Youth Fest at the Huddleston Ruritan Center. Even though the forecast called for rain and the skies threatened us the entire day, we didn't get chased indoors until the last hour or so of the program. Despite the rain, we had representation from 7 churches and approximately 100 people attending.
