As you read this article, most certainly sitting in a climate controlled environment enjoying all of the conveniences afforded you in this wealthy, and most often materialistic culture, I invite you to think deeply on what follows. Somewhere in this world of almost seven billion souls, during these very moments, a follower of Jesus Christ is being physically brutalized by a group of people who want no part of our Lord or His teaching. Many of these believers will die at the hands of their attackers.
For the past hour or more a lone bare-foot messenger has been walking hardened dirt trails deep into secluded mountains in order to share God's indescribable love with a village or community that has never heard the whole story. Some of the villagers, in fact, have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this distant traveler, because they had only heard enough of the story to keep them sitting on the edge of their seats.
Bedford Hospice Care exists to provide care for terminally ill patients with end stage diseases who desire comfort care. Because of fund raising efforts, services are provided without regard to the patient's ability to pay. Help make living easier for those who are dying by joining Bedford Hospice Care in their 7th Annual Carewalk! The hospice volunteer committee has organized the Hundreds of Feet—Miles of Care Carewalk to be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Bedford Memorial Hospital. Registration will begin at 8:30 a.m., and the walk will continue from 8:45 to 11:00 a.m. For more info, call 587.6592.

Theme: Choosing the Right Path More
Sheila and Jeff Saunders of Flint Hill are serving with a Disaster Relief Team in Texas, September 23-October 11.
Mt. Zion has been quite active this summer. On June 21, a one-day Vacation Bible School was held, with a total of 44 children and adults participating. After a day of Bible stories, music, and games, a dinner was served for children and parents. It truly was a blessed day. On July 26, we had Summer Blast. This too was a great day of games, activities, and food. A total of 68 was present. Summer would not be summer without a church picnic, so on August 23, church members, friends, families and guests had a wonderful day. It was good to have former members come back to visit. Our Christmas-In-August project this year was the Bedford Community Christian Station. Many nice coats and toys were collected. We feel blessed that we could be missionaries in our own back yard. We are looking forward to our Fall Revival, October 5-8, 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, and 7:00 p.m. Monday-Wednesday. Rev. Todd Childers from Norwood will be the evangelist. Everyone is invited to come hear the Gospel preached and special singing each evening. We praise God for such a blessed summer and the opportunity to serve Him!
The Men's Singing Group from Lynch Station Baptist Church will present a program at Quaker on Sunday, October 12, 6 p.m. Members of Quaker, Suzann Timma and Chuck and Lynne Stebbins, are serving in Disaster Relief Ministry in the wake of hurricane Ike.
