God has been very good and gracious to us. Over the summer we had 4 preview services at the Jamerson Family YMCA, with an average of 35 people at each service.
Thanks to the SBA summer missionaries and my two oldest boys who spent two afternoons prayer walking through the Wyndhurst Community. Thanks also to Steve Manuel for getting the church info on the SBA website, as two families found the church via the web.
This December 21, Saturday, we are planning an associational-wide Christmas event that will include several “caravans” of travelers on their way to “Bethlehem” with wise men, shepherds, and Mary and Joseph. There will be live animals including horses, donkeys, and sheep, and each caravan will follow a separate path through the town of Bedford that eventually leads them to the stable at Bedford Baptist where the Christ child is born.
Christian sympathy is extended to Rev. Rick Mallory and his family on the death of Rick’s grandmother, Opal White, on Monday, October 14. We offer our deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Rev. Seaburn S. Daniel who passed away on Monday, October 28, 2002.

The Evangelism Committee coordinated the efforts that enabled us to participate in CenterFest this September 28 in Bedford. What a wonderful opportunity to educate the public about the churches of Strawberry Baptist Association, our diverse ministries, share tracts, and provide a “Baby Changing Station.” About fifty volunteers from ten of our churches participated with us. We experienced a touch of koinonia (fellowship / community) on Monday evening, October 28. The gathering at Morgans Baptist for our annual meeting was good. We have heard so many wonderful comments of how it was a truly uplifting and worshipful time as we shared many reports of the great things God has done. It is a needed reminder of what God is able to do when His people are obedient and surrender themselves into His care.
Jeff Powers, our vice-moderator, will undergo his third cancer surgery in as many years the middle part of November. We will all want to pray for God's tender healing and care of our brother during this time.
Carol Deans, wife of Pastor Jack Deans of Terrace View, will be undergoing gall bladder surgery in November. Lift her to the Lord, especially that she will be healthy enough from other physical needs to be strong for the surgery.
December 31 Charles Stinson (North Bedford)
December4 Jack & Carol Deans (Terrace View)
December 7 Gary Fowler (Pastor/Flint Hill/5 yrs.)
Under the Lordship of Christ, to equip, support, and involve our family of churches in meeting the spiritual and physical needs of a changing community and world.
